Bonus slots

Bonus slots are slots machines with a bonus game feature. There are bonus games which are played on the reels and on the second screen.

Bonus games on the reels are usually free spins, ‘Pick an Item’ style games, Nudge, Hold and Shifta! games.

In the ‘Pick an Item’ bonus game a player must choose 1 (rarely more) item from 3 or 5 items on the reels to reveal the bonus prize amount.

Free Spins is a variety of the bonus round feature which allows a player to get a certain number of spins for free. As a rule 3 or more scatters trigger Free Games. The number of Free Spins depends on the number of scatters and may vary from 3 to 100 (and even more) spins. Many gaming software developers also give various multipliers during Free Spins.

The Nudge feature allows spinning a chosen reel or reels to display the next symbol.

The Hold feature allows freezing a chosen reel or reels while others are spinning.

Shifta! feature spins a winning combination automatically.

Bonus games on the second reels are various. They can be ‘Pick an Item’, 'Pick until Pop', ‘Wheel of Fortune’ bonus games. There is also a Gamble Feature.

The ‘Pick an Item’ bonus game on the second screen slightly differs from that on the reels. A player chooses more than 1 item from a number of items to reveal the bonus prize amount. There is also 'Multilevel Pick an Item’ games. If a player chooses the right item he gets a chance to move to the next level of the bonus game which offers higher prizes.

'Pick until Pop' bonus game allows players to pick items until they come across the Pop Symbol which stops the bonus round.

In the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ game players rotate the wheel of fortune to reveal the bonus prize amount.

Gamble Game is a bonus feature on the second screen which is activated after an effective spin. The player then can decide on whether to play the Gamble Game or collect the money. If he chooses the former, he sees 2 face down cards and must guess if the card is red or black or a row of face down cards and one face-up card, the player has to pick a card higher than a face up card. If he guesses right he doubles (or half doubles or quadruples, different slots offer different opportunities) the winning. Then the player can collect the winnings or continue to play until he makes a mistake and loses all he has won.
